Apex Legends May Be Getting Portable Respawn Beacons

While many fans of Apex Legends are enjoying season 2, others are trying to figure out what's next for battle royale. According to dataminer Shrugtal, Apex Legends, developed by Respawn Entertainment, seems to be receiving portable Respawn Beacons soon. Twitter user Shrugtal recently discovered two of Wattson's voice lines describing portable respawn beacons from the game's files.

In the leak, two of Wattson's voice lines can be clearly heard: "Found a portable respawn beacon here," followed by "I'm deploying a portable respawn beacon." These voice lines were introduced into the game's sound banks with the release of the season two patch earlier this month, according to Shrugtal. That suggests Respawn Entertainment may be experimenting with this feature and considering implementing it right away.

It looks like Respawn Beacon of Apex Legends could be added, or at least considered. Such an item has the obvious potential to influence tactics on the field during matches, and could make for some interesting scenarios. Many of the changes Respawn made to Apex Legends were implemented into other games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Blackout. What do you think about that?
