Warframe's Grendel and The Kuva Lich and The Old Blood Update Are Coming Soon to PC

Warframe is a long-running free-to-play giant that constantly pushes the boundaries of games by updating and adding content. Announced for the first time at TennoCon 2019, the next epic chapter, Empyrean, will provide players with new story quests, new enemies and redo of the current frame. Although the Empyrean update won't be released until later this year, Digital Extremes have announced the arrival of Kuva Lich and shared Grendel's image, both of which are coming soon to Warframe on PC.

As part of this update, players will get to see the menacing Kuva Lich early.Kuva Lich is described of constantly terrorizing players, requiring the Tenno to gather clues to hunt down the Kuva Lich. Kuva Lich and its allies will relentlessly terrorize players across the Origin System, requiring the Tenno to decipher clues to hunt down and defeat them. The Kuva Lich will evolve once its defeated, however, every time the Lich is hunted, it will take on different Tenno Abilities that will drastically change future encounters.

In addition to getting a sneak peek at new enemies, players will also get access to the newest Frame: Grendel. Grendel is the 42nd Warframe to be announced and can be constructed from parts acquired free in-game or purchased in the Marketplace, standalone, or as part of a bundle, which includes Grendel's signature weapon, alternate helmet and Syandana. Looking like a newer, tanky Frame, that provides buffs to allies, Grendel is looking to change the game one bite at a time.

Melee changes are coming as well, with Phase 2 making close quarter combat more streamlined and intuitive. That fight should be much more interesting for brawlers, too. The Old Blood introduces phase 2 of Warframe's melee rework, adding heavy attacks, mid-air juggling, combo reworks and re-introducing manual blocking.

The Old Blood update will launch "soon" on PC, with the console version getting an update sometime in the future.

• Ember's new Immolation gauge makes using her an engaging challenge where precision is key. Casting Abilities will build up the meter and generate defensive armor for Ember, but if it overloads and flames out, a powerful wave of damage will be unleashed and leave her exposed.
• Titania's Deluxe Skin Collection creates an aesthetic capable of mesmerizing and striking fear into enemies. The Deluxe Collection includes a regal new Skin for Titania, variants of her signature Diwata and Pixia weapons, a new Armor Set, and a new Gunblade Skin.
• For those looking to add a spookier presence on the battlefield, breed the brand new vampiric Kavat, Vasca.
• Add sleek visual flair to your Kavat and Kubrow companion with an Armor Collection themed after the Tigris shotgun.

The incoming update also brings the usual haul of new cosmetics, balance changes and more, all of which can be found on The Old Blood's announcement post. While the update doesn't quite have a release date, it'll be on PC "soon" with consoles to follow.
