DC Universe Online, the popular, long-running free-to-play MMORPG from Daybreak Games set within a version of DC Comics' universe. The game is a free-to-play, massively multiplayer online game unsurprisingly set in the DC universe which has players creating their own unique character.

DC Universe Online is releasing on Nintendo Switch now. According to the official twitter account for the game, all world servers will be taken down at 5:30am PT, with the launch on Switch planned for 9AM PT. First released in 2011 on Playstation 3, DC Universe Online was later ported to PS4 as a launch title before arriving on Xbox One and now, Nintendo Switch. Unlike many other multiplayer games, however, DC Universe Online does not require a Nintendo Switch Online membership. If you're in doubt, read INGAMEMALL earlier post: Q&A of DC Universe Online on Nintendo Switch™

The development team has been working hard to ensure Switch players have "the best MMO experience":

"The DCUO team focused on many quality-of-life improvements over the past year to ensure players have the best MMO experience on Nintendo Switch. These include a revamped tutorial, access to the latest event content within a few hours of starting the game, new augment and artifact systems, and updated character models. DCUO will launch on Nintendo Switch with a brand-new server, separate from all other communities."

Additionally, DCUO will receive two new episodes based on DC's Dark Nights: Metal comic book series later this year:

  • Episode 35: Metal - Part I in September 2019
  • Episode 36: Metal - Part II in December 2019
